By tapping into the evolution of Clinique’s visual aesthetic, we unearthed the monumental history of the brand, which both informed and persists in its minimalist reimaginings of Irving Penn’s fashion work from the 1960’s and 70’s, including work that created the identity of the brand itself.

Beginning with the brand’s inception as a scientific alternative prioritizing skin health, brand transparency, and timeless modernity, we journey along Clinique's brand narrative to unearth all the elements that were preserved due to their iconoclasm, be it recontextualized or in its original form, and what evolved to keep the innovative spirit of the brand alive.
